Naturally Lefty

There’s something incredibly special about chasing a dream you’ve carried with you for so many years… and then realizing you were never chasing it alone.

Ever since I was 8 years old, I’ve had this quiet dream—to publish my own book. It lived in the background of my life for so long, growing alongside me, waiting patiently for the right time. Through all those years, there were always a few voices—steady, encouraging, and unwavering—reminding me to do what I do best:

WRITE.

To my friends—those near and those far—thank you.

Thank you for believing in me, even in moments when I wasn’t fully sure of myself. Thank you for reminding me of my love for writing, for encouraging me to keep going, and for celebrating each step along the way. This journey has been filled with so many meaningful “firsts,” and what made them even more unforgettable… was sharing them with you.

I’ll never forget the moment I was at my very first bookstore ‘Reading’ aka ‘Story Time’—about 25 minutes away from home—focused on the experience, the nerves, the excitement… and then, out of nowhere, I saw a familiar face, my lifetime friend! 🤗 She sat down on the “magic carpet” with all the kids for Story Time – something she hadn’t done since her own children were toddlers! 😅 I was completely surprised and my heart felt SO full❣️

It’s hard to describe that kind of joy—the kind that comes from being seen, supported, and loved by someone who has known you for so long (since 4th grade!)! 

It made everything feel real in the most beautiful way.

Then came my first book festival (Little BIPOC)… and my first book signing. There they were again—my family and close friends—showing up, cheering me on, celebrating this moment with me. 💖 Your presence meant more than you probably realized. In a room full of people, it’s those familiar faces that ground you, that remind you where you came from, and how far you’ve come. 

It’s easy to talk about dreams as individual journeys. But the truth is, dreams are often carried by a community-the people who encourage you, who support you, and who truly show up.  I feel incredibly lucky to have that. 💜

Publishing my book may have been my dream… But celebrating it with all of you has made it even more meaningful than I ever imagined.
